T1Daily keeps your data on your device and securely backs it up to your own private account so you never lose it. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. We never collect glucose or CGM readings.
Plain-English summary
T1Daily is built on a simple principle: your child's care information belongs to you. Here's what that means in practice:
- Your data lives on your device — and in your private account. Profiles, handovers and care plans are stored on your iPhone for fast, offline access and securely synced to your own access-controlled account so you can restore them on a new device. They are never shared with advertisers.
- Share links are yours to control. When you share a profile or handover, you control how long the link works and can revoke it at any time.
- We don't store glucose data. T1Daily never reads from or writes to any CGM or glucose monitoring device. Ever.
- We don't show ads. T1Daily is a subscription app. Your data is never sold or used for advertising.
- You can delete everything. Account → Reset app & data wipes everything from your device instantly.

What we collect
T1Daily operates on a device-first, privacy-first model. Here is every category of data the app uses:
Information you provide directly:
- Your name and an optional email address (used only to identify your local account)
- Your child's name, age, diagnosis date, and device type (CGM/pump/MDI)
- Care profile content you write — signs of a hypo, action steps, food rules, etc.
- Caregiver names and phone numbers you add
- Handover details you create
- School pack information you set up
Information generated by app use:
- Daily check-ins (mood: good / mixed / tough — no glucose values)
- Reassurance ping timestamps
- Kit check records
- Preparedness plan progress
- A push notification token (so we can send handover and reassurance alerts to your device)
Information we do NOT collect:
- Glucose or CGM readings of any kind
- Insulin doses or bolus calculations
- Location data
- Biometric data
- Device identifiers for advertising purposes
Subscription data: If you subscribe to T1Daily Premium, payment is handled entirely by Apple via in-app purchase. We never see or store your payment details.
Analytics & advertising: The app does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use your data for advertising.
How we use it
All data you enter into T1Daily is used solely to provide the app's features to you. Specifically:
- To generate your child's care profile, handovers, school pack and emergency card
- To create share links and QR codes for caregivers
- To record and display reassurance pings and handover acknowledgements
- To track your preparedness plan progress
- To manage your Premium subscription status
We do not use your data to train AI models, for targeted advertising, or for any purpose beyond operating the app for you.
Where data is stored
Your profile, handover and care data is stored locally on your iPhone using encrypted device storage, so the app works quickly and offline. This local data is also included in your iCloud or iTunes backup if you have backups enabled — which means it is subject to Apple's privacy policy for backup data.
When you create an account, your data is also securely backed up to our cloud database, provided by Supabase and hosted in the European Union. This lets you restore your data if you change or reset your device, and powers features like Care Circle that are shared with people you invite. Access is protected by row-level security, so only your authenticated account can read your data.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the United Kingdom or European Union, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: You can export a copy of all your data at any time via Settings → Privacy & data → Export my data.
- Right to erasure: You can delete all data from your device via Settings → Privacy & data → Delete all data. This is immediate and irreversible.
- Right to rectification: You can edit any information in the app at any time.
- Right to portability: The export feature produces a JSON file containing all your data in a portable format.
- Right to object: Since we do not process your data for marketing or profiling purposes, there is limited scope for objection. For any specific concern, contact us.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Children's privacy
T1Daily is designed for use by parents and adult caregivers of children with Type 1 Diabetes. The app is not intended for direct use by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Profile data about a child (name, care plan details) is entered by and controlled by the parent or guardian, and is stored only on their device.
Security
All data stored by T1Daily uses the encrypted storage provided by iOS. Share links use unique, randomly generated tokens — they cannot be guessed. You can revoke any share link at any time, instantly invalidating access.
We recommend keeping your iPhone updated and using a device passcode to protect the T1Daily data on your device.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you through the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of T1Daily after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
